Art for Wild Places: A New Way to Give Back

Art for Wild Places: A New Way to Give Back

A creative collaboration celebrating the people who protect our public lands, wild waters, and the creatures that call them home.

Wild places—our public lands, unbroken landscapes, thriving waters, and the wildlife woven through them—have shaped so much of who I am. They ground my spirit and breathe life into my art. These are the spaces that inspire me, challenge me, and remind me what freedom feels like.

But they don’t protect themselves. Wild places survive because people fight for them. People who advocate, organize, restore, and educate. People who show up and do the work.

Art for Wild Places is my way of celebrating those people. This project is more than a blog—it's an ongoing series of interviews, stories, and original artwork created in collaboration with the folks on the frontlines of wild advocacy.

Each feature will spotlight a nonprofit or individual working to protect our wild lands, waters, and wildlife. I’ll sit down with someone from their team, share their story through my blog, and create a painting inspired by our conversation. That artwork will be donated to support their mission—because I believe art can amplify impact.

Kicking It Off With: Josh Mills of Backcountry Hunters & Anglers

To launch the series, I’m honored to feature Josh Mills—an incredible advocate and passionate voice for wild spaces. I’ll be creating an original piece inspired by our conversation and donating it to BHA’s North American Rendezvous in June.
Stay tuned—the full interview with Josh will be published soon, and you won’t want to miss his insight and fire for this work.

Your Voice Matters

I’d love to hear from you—what organizations or individuals are doing inspiring work for public lands and the wild world around us? Drop your recommendations in the comments. I want to uplift and amplify as many of these voices as possible.

This is just the beginning of Art for Wild Places, and I’m so excited to share this journey with you.
